SAFECOM World Park Precinct- ESS State Headquarters

Pike Constructions were engaged by Axiom Properties Ltd as the Head Design & Construct Contractor for the delivery of the World Park Precinct – ESS State Headquarters.

The new ESS State Command Centre is a world class, state-of-the-art facility purpose built for the State Government. The building is designed to enhance and support more than 300 staff in the Emergency Services Sector. The entire facility incorporates an office building, warehouse, hardstand, energy centre and a multi-deck carpark.

The building and energy centre are constructed to Importance Level 4, being earthquake‐resilient, featuring backup power, water and wastewater storage. The rating of Importance Level 4 ensures ESS Staff & volunteers can continue their paramount work up to at least 48 hours in isolation where major utilities are unavailable due to major disasters such as earthquakes, floods and storms.

One of the challenges of the project has been to incorporate a Building Management System (BMS) which has the ability to control all sectors and optimise energy efficiency for Greenstar/NABERS rated to 5 stars.

The energy centre is a critical piece of infrastructure that allows the building to operate under ‘island mode’ in a post disaster event. The energy centre stores portable water for drinking, two generators (with underground diesel storage), underground wastewater storage, two fire tanks and fire pump shed.

The office building includes more than 5500sqm of floor space and the warehouse houses five heavy tankers and a bulk carrier on standby for operational deployment.

Playford CBD Carpark

Pike Constructions was awarded the design & construct contract to build the new multi-storey car park for the City of Playford in their new CBD precinct.

Pike Constructions worked with our design team and the City of Playford to ensure that the principals project requirements were met within their budget.

With over 9000m2 of floor area over 6 stories, the facility will provide over 360 parks for the City of Playford community and will support future precincts to be developed in the CBD area.

Cladding and Roofing

The development includes the demolition of existing warehouse facilities and pavements to provide our client with a clean site area of over 12,000m2. The new buildings will include 3200m2 of warehouse space, 900m2 of state of the art office facilities and over 7000m2 of external concrete hardstands, bitumen roadways and car parking. The office fit-out is truly first class and show cases our clients own services including architectural cladding systems and alucobond facades.

South Central Trucks

Pike Constructions completed in late 2015 the construction of the largest truck sales & service facility to be built in the southern hemisphere. Having built CMV Groups $7.2 million Kenworth facility in 2007 it is a testament to our client relationship to be involved with another significant project. Both projects are a fine example or relationship contracting and our capacity to deliver quality commercial/industrial projects of significant scale.

The works included the construction of a new two storey office, spare parts warehouse, spare parts sales area and main workshop service centre. In total the new facility provides our client with over 8000m2 of floor space. The external works is on a massive scale with bitumen & concrete hardstands, undercover canopies, a fuel station and truck wash bay providing a total site development of 42,000m2.

Mercedes

Pike Constructions has recently completed the construction of the largest stand-alone Mercedes-Benz Vans dealership in Australia. Having built previous CMV Group projects since 2007, our client relationship continues to evolve in the quality of our commercial/industrial projects.

The works included the construction of a new office, sales, servicing workshop and spare parts for commercial vans. In total the new facility provides our client with over 1200sq metres of floor space

Adelaide Produce Markets

The existing Market Square at the Adelaide Produce Markets underwent a major transformation with two new free standing canopies being built to protect the fresh food produce we all enjoy. Each canopy is approximately 9300m2 in size providing 18,600m2 of undercover area for the logistics of handling, storage and distribution. This transformation has provided our client with the largest undercover market in the state and one of the largest in Australia.

In addition to the Market Square Precinct we extended three existing canopies along with two existing warehouses on the site. In total we constructed approximately 24,000m2 of new buildings for our client. With some careful planning and strategic coordination all of the 24,000m2 of new works was built whilst our client remained fully operational.

Kent Town Office

The works includes the removal and replacement of the existing façade on two elevations, construction of a new main entry foyer, new lift installation and a fire safety up grade. With construction due to begin in May and a dead line of October the design and construction team are working closely and effectively to ensure the client’s time requirements are achieved.

Equals

The works includes the removal and replacement of the existing façade on two elevations, construction of a new main entry foyer, new lift installation and a fire safety up grade. With construction due to begin in May and a dead line of October the design and construction team are working closely and effectively to ensure the client’s time requirements are achieved.

CMV Kenworth

The new CMV Truck Sales facility is located on a prime piece of real estate that many would remember as once being Adelaide’s main abattoir. The conversion from cattle yards to arguably one of Australia’s best truck sales and service facilities is impressive. The design incorporates stylish features such as polished concrete and jarrah timber floors. The main entry features two prime movers parked just inside the front door which leads to a reception counter complete with bull bars and headlights. The Eco design also utilised expansive amounts of natural light, sensor detection lighting throughout and the warehouse areas are heated by recycling the waste oil from the trucks which they service. The expansive site area also allowed us to catch over 300,000 litres of water which is treated and reused in their truck wash bay, wet areas and landscaping.

U Store It Mt Barker

Pike Constructions was awarded the building contract to construct the new U Store It in Mount Barker. The development includes over 400 storage units and an administration area constructed in a 6800m2, 2 level building.

The building was constructed into the side of a hill and has been designed to be in a way an additional level could be added in the future. The external elements of the project include a perimeter access road, 1200m2 car park and associated landscaping.
