The project included cutting approximately 40,000 Tn of material including hard rock from the hill side to create a relatively flat platform, with new retaining walls up to 5m high to 3 site boundaries. The new facility includes 2,800m2 of commercial building space constructed with precast panels and structural steel. The front face of the building is aluminium glazed full height, and the facility has the flexibility to be divided into 3 or 4 individual tenancies. Customer parking area to the front of the building with heavy vehicle / delivery access to the rear of the building.
Despite being significantly delayed due to the presence of hard rock on the site, and an extreme heat wave the project was delivered within program and to the satisfaction of the client. Pike Constructions also coordinated and facilitated the Total Tools fitout works (by others) concurrent to main contract works.
Pike Constructions has recently been awarded the Design & Construct Contract for stage 2 of the Churchill South Retail Precinct being built adjacent the Bunnings at Kilburn. The contract is the third in the past 12 months with our client Axiom Properties Ltd and with the design phase complete we are scheduled to commence stage 2 in April 2015.
Stage 2 includes the construction of another 2000m2 of retail space being split into 3 separate tenancies including Crocs Play Café & Stihl. Working closely with the tenants we will integrate store specific requirements to suit their operational needs. The external element of the project provides 2500m2 of car parking, external roadways, stormwater management and associated landscaping. In total across both stages we will deliver our client with over 7600m2 of prime retail space.
Pike Constructions was awarded the design & construct contract for the Gawler Bunnings Retail Facility. Being built as the final part of the Gawler Green development Bunnings moved in alongside other recognised retail brands such as Coles & Hungry Jacks.
The project included the demolition of existing buildings and structures that made way for a total site development of over 12,000m2. The retail facility was made up of the familiar Bunnings layout including main retail, timber & trade, garden centre, cafe & playground and the popular DIY stations. Externally the project included concrete loading docks, public car parking along with associated landscaping.
Pike Constructions has recently completed the design & construct contract to develop the new Kmart Tyre & Auto facility and Repco Retail facility on the Churchill North Retail Precinct being developed by Axiom Properties Limited. The construction provided a back to back two tenancy facility with an approximate floor area of 1000m2. Pike Constructions has recently been awarded the design & construct contract to develop the new Harvey Norman Retail outlet in Port Lincoln South Australia. Being built in one of the states iconic seaside towns the project as whole will be warmly welcomed by the local community and the surrounding agricultural townships.

Pike Constructions recently completed the construction of the new bulky goods retail facility located at Marion Road, Marion. Being built between existing retail facilities including Harvey Norman and Freedom Furniture the brief was to provide a high quality finish suitable for its intended retail environment with clear spans and crisp clean detailing. Being split into two individual tenancies 70% of the floor area was specifically detailed for the new home of The Good Guys.
The scope of works included construction of a 3,700m2 bulky goods retail facility with tenant specific fit-out and signage, rear loading docks and required amenities. In addition we provided our client with 2000m2 of external car parking and landscaping over the 5700m2 site.
Our long standing client, Axiom Properties Limited, has engaged Pike Constructions to undertake the next stage of the recently completed Churchill North Shopping Centre. The Churchill Retail Precinct has been a successful space for Pike Constructions with this new project being our fourth within a two year period.
The form of procurement was for an open book, negotiated approach which is a testament to the way Pike Constructions conducts our business. Trusted by Axiom Properties to manage the design team, tenant specific requirements and development approvals, Pike Constructions have been engaged by the client to manage their interests from conception to completion.
The development consists of approximately 3000m2 of new retail space, with the main portion being tenanted by Aldi Food Stores. The built area also includes and extension to the existing mall and 750m2 of specialty stores. Externally the centre is taking on some significant changes. We demolished the existing old stock warehousing and have constructed a new 6000m2 car park with associated lighting and landscaping. In addition we have developed a new car wash facility, access link ways to the existing centre and a community bus stop.
